    Default Aloe vera plant safe?

    Does anyone know if aloe vera plants are safe to use in a crested geckos tank? I have one in the window i am thinking about putting in the planted tank but cant find any info either saying they are or arent safe for cresties...

    I'm not positive; but I thought they were poisonous if eatten. I wouldn't put one in my tanks.
    1.0 Dog; 0.2 Sugar gliders;1.0 Leopard Gecko;3.3.4 Crested Geckos; 0.2.4 Gargoyle Geckos; 0.1.1 Sarasinorum; 0.2.2 PI Chahoua; 1.1 Eurydactylodes Agricolae; 1.1 Nuu Ana, 0.0.2 Isle E, 0.01 Nu Ami And interested in a few others

    Yeah i cant seem to get a certain answer one way or the other so i will be leaving it in the window. Just thought it would have been cute.

    The safe plant list isn't really a full list. There are just to many possible plants to put them all on one list.

    Generally speaking anything that has medicinal purpose for a human, won't end well for the gecko.

    However, there are a lot of plants that you can use. You just have to look for one that will work in the environment your creating. Aloe normally grows in drier regions, so it may not like the humidity. However, almost any fern can be used in the set up, as can most orchids and jewel orchids.

    I'm not sure if they are poisonous or not, but a lot of the aloes that I've seen have lots of "teeth" up their leaves. I would be concerned about a gecko scratching itself on those.
