Default - Hot Glue - Cure Time? -

    Hello,

I have made some things using a hot glue gun and from what i looked up it says it should cure in 24 hours. For some reason this is hard for me to belive. It has been a total of 5 days or so and I find it still has a smell to it... It seems like it wouldn't be good for my hatchlings and don't want to risk anything by putting them in there. For anyone who has used a hot glue gun for anything could you give me your cure times and if it is toxic until you can no longer smell anything. Or is it just all around not safe to use this type of method.

    Thank you for your time!

Hot glue depends on the hot glue that you are using some cure faster than other but most are not healthy for reptiles to eat. Some indicate they are non-toxic but I try to keep my reps as far away from adhesives as possible.

A little trick I learned from yrs of hobbying and craft projects: Once the hot glue has cooled, you can take a paper towel misted with WHITE VINEGAR and wipe the glue. It sets the glue instantly with no lingering odor (after the vinegar evaporates, of course)
