its funny you say that cause just a few days ago it started to reach 83 in my cresteds tanks so i wanted to get a portable air conditioner but didnt want too spend 300 4000 so i went on craigslist and got one for $80 dont no if this is an option for you but it works like a charm.

the hot weather here is only 73f outside and shouldn't get much higher than that. it's nothing like what i've heard is going down in the states. my geckos are on the top 3rd floor so the area heats up fast and crazy especially in late afternoon....luckily it cools down within a few hours though. ideally it would be nice to have a portable a/c but i can't spend $400 and only use it for a few weeks. for now i'm keeping them well misted/hydrated and tucked away in the corner away from any direct sun light. i covered all my the windows with tin foil too so hopefully that helps keep the heat out
