Default Can't see my herp until Saturday, Any ideas?

So the one baby gecko that we took from the store - we knew would have problems. They housed the little 5 wk old crestie in with coco husk and he swollowed a rather large piece and it went through the digestive track. The store removed the piece from the vent while my b/f was at the store. We got it for 1/2 the price because it was lacking a tail and it may not survive. 60$ is still a lot but we couldn't bare to leave him there to have that happen again.

The last 3 days he's been leaking clear fluid from his vent and when it dries it kind of goes white. I know I need to take them to the herp - but if anyone has any idea how I can ease his pain until the weekend? Or at least help him survive until then? He's very cute and loveable and loves to lick the water - he still seems to eat, he doesn't seem lethargic and he's fully alert so I'm not insanely worried. I have flagyl powder but I have no idea how to use it; the one reptile store we went to ages ago gave us a sample first aid kit and it has that in it but it doesn't say how much to use and I do not want to poison the poor little guy.

Anyway - I know there's not much anyone can do - but any idea's I'd appreciate it.

Oh and We have stopped feeding him crickets (we gave him a few Sunday just in case but the vent wasn't leaking then and we just got him Sunday) he does take a few licks from the CGD and the bowl was empty this morning...

Aslong as he's eating thats all you can do. I wouldn't give him any crickets or handle him till you see the herp cause that may stress him out.

If he's just had intestinal obstruction (which you should never rip out from the vent, btw if it happens again) you don't want to administer a medicine like flagyl without the advice of a vet. Flagyl is an antibiotic but it is used more for parasites, I believe. It won't help with pain or swelling, to my knowledge.

Try giving the gecko saunas every night to make sure the fluid doesn't dry and build up. Sounds like urates, but it could be puss or a result of trauma. Try to hand feed after the sauna, he might be extra licky. I usually don't recommend hand feeding a new gecko, but if he's sick or has an injury he may need the calories.

    Good luck! Poor little guy.

It would never happen again - I swear lol

I don't use substrate and I get mad at the pet stores around here because they house all the little babies in with it 9/10 times I see the little ones with mouthfulls of it, or it coming from their vent. I don't trust that store anymore, I can't even trust their feeders, they don't last. I'm just getting really disappointed by the lack of availability of things around here... where I used to live there was so much stuff that I could get my hands on - everything that I need but here - even though it's a big city - it sucks...

I don't typically rescue from a pet store but the b/f loved the little guy so much and we were going to buy him 3 weeks ago but we just didn't have the room because someone fell through on coming to pick up one of the ones we rehabilitated. Ah well - it's not leaking as much now, the sauna's definitely seem to make him comfy so thank you... sometimes I panic and forget the simple things. And thanks for clarifying on the metro! I didn't now it could kill parasites, I know that it's used for womanly issues in humans and a few other conditions. He ate out of the food dish all on his own today so I'm hoping that when he gets into the herp he'll be right as rain and I will have brought him for nothing... lol wishful thinking!
