So do not rely on that - you've got to actually purchase a thermostat that plugs into the wall, monitors the room temperature, and shuts off power to the space heater once the desired temp is reached (and turns back on when it's too cold - you can toggle the thermostat to "swing" a few degrees if you want or keep it within a single degree). It's the ONLY safe way to use a space heater. And it could save you a lot of money, in regards to saving your entire collection of geckos' lives.

Increasing the size of containers as the grow would work yes. A lot of folks upgrade their juvies at certain sizes. You could probably do a search and find some good advice on that.
Ok that sounds like you have been down that road before... If you could find me the link to the thermostat you got that would be great if its not to much trouble. If not im sure i could find something like it.

Indeed I have, and I'm happy to find that link - here's the one I have and love: http://www.amazon.com/Lux-Heating-Co...9573514&sr=1-3

Haven't had any trouble with it at all, it's kept my reptile room a constant temperature through all four seasons now. I only wish I'd got one sooner and not had the problems with the space heaters, I realize now how close I was to courting the danger of losing some animals if I hadn't caught the temp spikes in time. I hope it works well for you too, but I am fairly confident you will be glad you got one.
