    Default It's a boy!!!!!

My 1st Sikorae hatched last night

I have no clue how old this egg was; it was 1 of 4 mystery eggs I found while checking my substrate this weekend. My girls lay every 17-20 days, so I've kept a close eye on them & checked their substrate extremely well around their lay dates & have actually caught them laying most of their eggs....but they snuck 4 eggs in on me somehow.

Thank goodness I had gotten 4 planted enclosures ready for them the end of April. I may have a clutchmate hatching soon, or not....guess time will tell when the other 3 mystery eggs will hatch. My next scheduled hatching dates that I do know are around 6/12 & 7/3. Guess I'll need to hit the pet store up this weekend for some pinheads.

    Last night....

This morning when he got transferred to hs nursery enclosure. He's so adorable

Hooray!! Congrats on the first little guy. Mystery eggs....they sure do sneak up on you! I've had a couple this year from my crested girls. They like to keep us guessing I guess.

Thanks! I just love how you can sex these guys right out of the egg...now I just have to wait patiently for the other 5 fertile eggs to hatch.

Thanks! With Sikoraes, sexing is easy: males have a striped pattern & girls have a pied pattern.
