This question is for anyone who has bred their Crested Geckos.
I'm wondering how long you had your first gecko for, before you decided to breed?

I believe I waited nearly two years to breed cresties after I got my first one, but it may have been somewhere closer to a year and a half.
But if you count the very first time I bred reptiles, which was several years ago now, I believe it was still a little over a year and a half before I started breeding. But you have to keep in mind that I didn't even know breeding was an option for the first 6 months or so. I got my first leopard gecko, was working on getting her care down when I discovered the wonderful world of reptile forums, although it wasn't Pangea. Then I slowly started getting a few more leopard geckos and when they were mature enough bred them for the first time. I only did for one season and then sold my collection when work, school, friends, and a new puppy overwhelmed me. I was 17/18 years old, and I just wasn't ready for all of the combined responsibility. Especially when new puppy, friends and guys were at the top of my priority list!
Now that I'm a little older and I've been handling tons of different projects and responsibilities without issue for a couple of years, breeding and caring for a large collection of reptiles really isn't a big deal, and it seems strange that I had such a problem with only a couple of leopard geckos. Its amazing what only a couple of years can do for maturity. Back when I first started with reptiles, a year to wait to start breeding seemed like an eternity, but now a year flies by so fast its unreal.

I didn't breed until after I had been keeping them for a little over 5 years.
