Reds as they grow

In my motherload, I have lots of little babies who are RED RED RED as wee tiny kiddos.

But I also have these kids who are yellowish brown or brownish brown that fire up slightly reddish. Will they become more red as time goes on? Or are they just on the dirty end of the brown spectrum?

I really don't know much about reds, so any help would be appreciated!

Usually they go red, some might surprise you and do something crazy! The ones that go red are4 usually a tan yellow color. Good luck! Reds are a good thing, and I need some more!

Good to know! Thanks! I wasn't sure if they were going to turn into yellows or if red and yellow were related. I know they came from red stock, so I wasn't sure if that meant they would probably go red.

With cresties, you never know. You could get yellows, reds, orange, brown. The possibilities are endless, but you will probably get mostly reds.

Vicki's hatchling reds are usually a really pale grey when fired down.

I think it depends on the source/bloodline.

And now goes even redder than this: (my camera colors are awful)


She also has a bright red throat blush and is getting redder with every shed.

It's a really cool process to watch.
