Haven't cats been domesticated for like 10,000 years? None of my pets live in the wild. I don't own cougars or wolves last time I checked, they are entirely different species. Plus, I'd rather not have to worry about my cats not getting those important vitamins/minerals they need, like taurine. Thankfully, pet foods have included those and given me piece of mind that I don't have to worry about my cats going blind from not getting the proper nutrition they need.

I obviously didn't mean that your specific pets live in the wild. No need to be snippy about it.

There are raw foods on the market that have already properly supplemented all those things. I don't have to worry about my cats going blind from lack of taurine. I don't make my own raw food.

It doesn't really matter how long cats have been domesticated. They are obligate carnivores and have no need for the crap that is put in kibble or the carb content of kibble. But like I said, to each his own.

Hence the recommendation for canned food. Two cats died this week from the salmonella contamination in foods from the diamond plant, salmonella is a real concern, and even more of a concern when the GI tract is not functioning properly.

With that said, in adult animals with healthy immune systems, I have no issues with raw, and occasionally feed it myself as a treat so my cats recognize it as food should I ever get the money to switch completely. I recommend Nature's Variety, they say they do a lot of quality control testing and the diet should be free from pathogenic bacteria.

Light & simple meal is good. Dont give them more & very heavy meal. Water should be consumed much.
