I know where it is...not too far from me. I'm in KS..but I really don't feel experienced enough to deal with the health issues they are likely to have plus the great possibility of gravid females.

He just texted me and asked if I would want them free. I think he is going to try selling the supplies next. He doesn't think females are gravid yet..whatever..I have a 20 gal I could put the gals in and I have a sterilite Viv I could put the male in...
    What do ya'll think...can I do this?

Do you think the girls will be okay in the same viv? It sounds like they're used to being together..and I don't want to increase stress any more than absolutely necessary. I could put a partition in the 20 which would give each female 10 gallons if necessary.
How advanced do you think the disease is? I know...you're not a vet...and if I get them...that WILL be my first stop...but I want to have an idea what I'm getting myself into. I don't think he's had them all that long...so maybe some of the damage can be reversed?
If I get them I will keep you all updated on their progress. I think I would probably need to keep the vivs horizontal instead of vertical...right? Don't want any falls.

No no falls needed. He did say he bought them like that. I think their disease is pretty bad. But a vet should be able to help. They need a better home... You. I would sperate them for the first month or two. The most expensive thing about owning those geckos will be the vet...maybe 100-400$. The male has something going on with his hip which could be pretty serious. One of the females looks like her tail is deflated or empty. Basicly your going to need to get rid of their tails because their all very seriously messed up (the tails). The vet might remove the females tails and need to look at the males hip.

    Default MBD babies...

I am researching MBD...I am familiar with the cause, of course, but want to learn more about how to treat it and what the prognosis is.
I have set up vivs...I will attach pics..please let me know if any changes are needed..I've never had these special needs ones before
I set up the 20 for the two girls..but I am planning to go buy some plexiglass to separate it so they each have their own space at least for awhile.
My goal is to keep the stress level as low as possible for awhile. I don't want to have to move them around a bunch...so I'm thinking about putting suction cups in two rows down the center of the viv...then I can slide the plexi panel right in. This means I don't have to use silicone or wait until it cures...and I can add it without moving the girls around and stressing them out. Do you think that's a workable plan?
He wants me to come get them today or tomorrow.

Yeah pool noodles are great...and CHEAP! I am kind of an overprotective Rhac mom, so I had to fill the ends...and the rubber tips help them stay in place

Hey you, just caught up to this thread - let me know if it ends up being too much for you to handle or you have any problems. It's going to be challenging. So if needed, I could probably take them. Just get ahold of me anytime! The problem is that there is NOT a good reptile vet anywhere close. Literally if you want to take them to someone who knows what they're doing you're looking at the 7 hour round trip to KC. I've been there done that with the vets around here, and you don't want to go down that road unfortunately. I had a gecko die because of an incompetent vet. Maybe I could take the girls and leave the male with you or something, just a thought. Keep in touch and good luck with whatever you decide!
