Default 0 cresties to 60 in one day!

Today is the exciting day that my group of babies come in! I bought a wholesale lot of 60 baby crested geckos. I figure that way I can keep my favorites to start a colony and sell the rest all the while getting experience in raising up a nice little gaggle of small ones. And for those of you who have the knee jerk reaction to someone taking on more than they can handle, I do have the means by which to sell these babies (I am licensed to deal in reptiles in my state and qualify for all the local reptile shows.), the money to support them, the space to house them, the supplies to care for them, and the time to devote to them. And for those of you who did have that knee jerk reaction, I appreciate and acknowledge that it is a good thing and you are welcome to call me out if you think there is something I've missed

The box is due to arrive before 10:30 am. I just went down and misted all of the cages for the little critters. I'm kind of nervous. I have only ever had single reptiles shipped to me, not an entire box!

I used to breed betta fish and therefore have a LOT of tanks and KKs. I think I bought 4 KKs. I decided to spread the group amongst 12 kks, 3 5 gallon tanks, and 4 ten gallon tanks. That way I get a feel for which setup works best for me. I have many tenners which can be juvie houses once I get the group down to my favorites. Thanks to pangea's weekend sale, it was very easy to fill the tanks with fake plants. I actually really like the zoomed plants because they are easy to rinse the poo off of. (I do have 2 gargs, so I have some experience with rhacs I'm not a complete noob diving head first into this.) I still want to make humid hides for the five and ten gallon tanks.

To me it looks like you know what you are doing, the enclosures in the first picture look perfect for the babies!

I lurk around pangea a lot, so I have you guys to thank for preparing me

I will definitely take bunches of photos. I'll be taking non flash photos as I unpack the little buggers. I will be weighing and documenting as I unpack.

I'm seriously nervous about getting so many kids at once :P I had a dream last night that they left the box damaged outside and the kiddos escaped and I had to pick them out of the shrubberies. Talk about stressful :P

The only thing I would recommend is using some smaller dishes and/or putting the dishes closer to "hiding spots" - in my experience, those big hamster bowl type things work well for adults, but if you're getting all babies, they may have issues getting into the bowls/getting back out of the bowls/eating food without swimming in it and tracking it everywhere/finding the food if it's not near ground cover. Otherwise it looks like you've got stuff covered!

Ahh okay! Just in case that was the case I have hoards of contact lens cases from the dollar store Thanks for the heads up! I'll just leave the hamster bowls as things for them to snuggle in

Also... I just unpacked them. HOLY CRAP. They are... no words. Uploading pics now!

I'm seriously jealous. Those are some gorgeous geckos with very cool patterning and morphology. I have 35 myself ranging from adult to newborn. your setup looks perfect. Those babies will do well. I like your picks. It is a great hobby.
