I have recently obtained an Emperor Scorpion, with 14 babies on her back. They have been on her back for about a month. I have been feeding the female about 5 crickets a week, and dumping a few fruit flies in there for the babies. All was well untill tonightI go out there to mist the Scorpions, and I saw a pretty bad sight. The female was scraping the babies off!!! I quickly tryed to get the female off of them, but she had trampled all but 5 of them. The 5 that are alive are well formed and show a light brown line down their back. The base color is still a pale white, but has a tint of brown to it. I moved them into individual delicups( I think about 1 ounce). They have some moss in the bottom, with a few live oak leaves on top.
Does that sound ok? I'm not quite sure if the babies' set up is quite right, but they are set up just about the same way the female is. I'm not sure if the babies are eating. Has anyone fed flightless fruit flies to them?
If you see any red flags with my set ups or care, let me know!
