Between 24" to 36" males usually are slightly smaller than females. I'm seriously thinking about breeding this species and will probably get him a girlfriend once my wallet recovers from him. They require almost identical temps and humidity as crested geckos.

Wow, he is just too cool! Are they docile? Easy to handle? Was he very expensive?

(This depends on where the info is coming from, don't have enough first hand experience to say for myself) Some say they are very fast, musk when startled, can bite with no provocation and should be handled as little as possible. Others say they are quick moving, one of their Common Names includes the word Racer, but tame down as well as most ratsnakes, kings and milks and can be handled if you work on taming them. They are voracious feeders, one reason they might tend to bite people, mistaking fingers for prey. I'm thrilled by this, having a lot of picky snakes that like to go off feed every so often and worry me. They were going for around $150 to $400, depending on gender and age but seems like since the Pro Exotics fire, they have jumped in price a lot. He was $300 with shipping and a female from the same place would have been $400. That was fairly decent for the prices I've been seeing the last few months for a juvi.

I had the same reaction the first time I saw pictures of one, about two years ago. Knew right away that I had to have one someday!
