    Default idea for hatchling setups

I'm always on the lookout for caging that looks nice and will fit well in the space I have, and when I went to the container store today I came across these..

of course the first thing out of my mouth was "those look perfect for baby geckos!"

I wish they were a little cheaper though, and I'm not sure how I would make them easy to open since from what I could tell they pretty much just snap together. But they're the perfect dimensions for a bookshelf in my room, and I'd be able to fit 6-9 of them on there.

Still, not sure if it'd be worth it as grow out tanks, considering they're $20 a piece.

A lot of people in the tarantula world use these. I believe you can get them cheaper than 20.00 at the craft stores but I'm not completely sure.

You'd have to drill ventiliation holes though. If you go through this thread, you'll probably find more ideas.

They look cool, but I think if you try cutting a door the plastic may split.
I have my itty bitty Garg in a small file folder container that was 4 bucks..looks good, has secure lid, and cheap!

For just a few bucks more might as well pick up an Exo Nano and not have to figure out how to add ventilation and the door situation... they are cool though.

Do you remember where you got it? I'm open to ideas, I just really want something that will look nicer than plastic tubs or kritter keepers, but also doesn't break the bank since they're just grow out tanks.

Yea, that's pretty much what I was thinking. I already have one and I do like it, they just wouldn't fit as nicely on the bookshelf I have as those cubes would. Also, they're a little bigger than the nanos.

If I had my own place I'd just save up and have something custom done, but I'd hate to spend the money on something nice and then have it not work when I eventually move.

Thanks for the pictures, I've used some tubs like that but they just don't fit into the space I have all that well.

If I can find a tool to cut the plastic without breaking it, I might buy one and try it out. I think they'd look really nice if they're sturdy and I can get a door in it.

I've heard that a Dremel tool is good for that...maybe you could cut out a piece on the back and use it to make a door...Gorilla Glue some hinges onto one side and some sort of latch/knob to the other side?

    Good luck!
