Default Sketch for my first shirt.woot entry . . .

I love this site and have many t-shirts from it, but have never tried to submit anything. XD

The theme is board games . . .

And so here is a sketch of dogs playing go. I'll post updates to it as I work. Reeeeeeeeeally wish I still had illustrator, but I'll make stuff work for me.

Let me know what you think. I already know of a couple adjustments to make, but that will come in the digital inking process.

    Inked with Manga Studio . . .

I'll be adding the actual pieces on the board soon. And color. XD Wish GIMP had pantones . . . but oh well. I miss photoshop and illustrator.

I think it looks really nice! My line art never comes out that well when I try to do it digitally. I think it'll look great with color, so all the different dogs and parts stand out better. I do feel your chin (sorry, or is it pekingese?) might be a bit too far to the right and might have looked less busy if it was moved to the left. Really a very nice piece overall though!

    Thanks for your comments!

It's a chin . . . probably going to be a lemon one because of the linework, but I may play with black and white.

I know it's busy, but so is this piece that it's loosely based off of:

By the way, if you ever spare $50 for Manga Studio Debut, do it. The lineart power of that cheap little program is unparalleled. This was done using the "brush" tool . . . some by hand with my tiny cheapass tablet, and some by using the "curve" tool. I no longer have photoshop or illustrator after a harddrive crash as both programs came from old jobs. I can't really afford to dish out cash for CS. I may buy an older version (CS2, maybe?) at some point. 2 because of the "trace" tool in illustrator.

I am now stuck with just Manga Studio Debut 4 and Gimp.

I think adding a pattern to the Shiba's yukata will help balance it.

I like it a lot! The dog in the back remind's me of Jake from Adventure Time. Goodluck!

I'm sure you could do lemon and then if it doesn't work right try black and white. I'm sure the end product is going to look really nice!

I may have to check out that program, my one biggest issue that holds me back from practicing my digital work is the lines always look bad when I'm done.

    Also, yay shiba!

    I love shirt woot too.

If you're in a pinch, you can download the demos for photoshop and illustrator free for 30 days. It's coming out nice though.
