Default My Smooth Knobtails -Nephrurus levis levis making me very happy

this season my knobtails finally were of safe ages and weights as well as health for breeding. My knobtail colony consists of 2 male Nephrurus levis levis paired with 3 female levis and 1 male Nephrurus amyae paired with 2 hypo females and 1 normal female. the amyae male was introduced the last few weeks and successfully did his thing. didn't have the camera handy but i'm a happy camper for sure. i believe all three females are gravid.

this week i paired 1 of my male N. levis levis with his girl and i witnessed this celebration of spring. i have my second male with another of the females and believe they will be doing the same shortly. excuse the photos not being perfect. although they get in a trance like state. i didn't want to push my luck and disturb them too much.that and a crappy camera doesn;t help but clear enough to see.

i have beautiful gargoyle gecko and crested gecko colonies but finally getting a chance to introduce these really have me excited.i love these geckos. definitely some of my favorites.

    hannibal,

definitely an exciting year. very high end cresteds in new pairings - red dal projects, pin projects, red bi's and some outstanding garg projects in the near future. also a mainland chahoua pairing coming up to correct age/size shortly. those plus pairing ups of the rough knobtails and smooth knobtails will keep me very busy.

i'm also really excited about my pairing of Eurydactylodes viellardi. love these little guys too. the viellardi are beautiful little geckos. looking forward to everyones babies also. good luck

I love knobtails! I hope to someday get into keeping & breeding the Amyae. Good luck with your colony!

thanks.knobtails definitely have a special place in my heart for sure. having been into herpetology for over 15 years it is one of my top 5 geckos to keep. i love the amyae and the levis levis but i also have a pair of wheeleri nearing breeding age too. the smooth knobtails have the most comical cartoon look. those giant eyes. gotta love them.
