    Default Red Tail Boa substrate

I was just given a female Red Tail. Right now she is on aspen bedding but to be honest I dont like how it looks, and the girly seems to make a mess with it. I wanted to try to make a mixture with cocofiber and sphagnum moss. Does this sound alright? I think it will keep the humidity up as well. THX

Using that substrate is going to get expensive. Even with spot cleaning, you'll most likely have to completely change it out every 3-4 weeks due to the amount of fluid expelled with their urates. I tend to use newspaper in the cages that house my smaller boas, and aspen shavings with my adults. Good luck with her. Boas are great!
