GECKO LEDGE PROblems ;(

Ok I need help finding really good strong magnets.
I know alot of peoe make their own cresty ledges but
My only problem is that I need a really strong magnet.
Anybody have any ideas??

I buy all my magnets at Michaels craft stores, but I'm sure all craft stores carry them. The magnets I buy are 4 magnets for $2.35 & they are rare earth magnets- very strong!

So let's just say I bought these: Magcraft NSN0834 1-Inch by 1/4-Inch by 1/10-Inch Rare Earth Block Magnets, 12-Count:
Will these be strong enough to hold a styrofoam with a gecko on it?
Will they work through the Exo terra glass?
Jus wondering because I want to make more ledges.

I got these through amazon... They are stronger than strong. The styrafoam will fail way before the magnets. be careful with them, they will pinch skin when snapping together

i recently attended the reptile convention in Montreal. i got a mushroom ledgeits about 8 inches long and 6 wide. the brand is magnaturals by pet tech products. is this one reliable for the magnet strength?

you are looking for neodymium magnets. If you look online, you can find strong ones. I think the little ones I hot ebay are six lbs. They are a lot stronger then normal magnets.

I have some strong magnets and thought about making a ledge... My question is.... Is it ok to leave the magnet accessible or should I wrap it in electrical tape? Is electrical tape ok for cresties?

What I did was sale one magnet to the foam then put tape all around the magnet
Then your good to put the other magnet outside the glass.

ive tested the gecko ledge i got by dropping a padlock (150g) from 2-3 inch height. the ledge did tilt about 20 degrees but it didnt drop at all. would this test be sufficient to know that my gecko will be safe to land on it from a jump?
