    Default Gecko Breeding

hey i am currently trying to breed crested geckos, I have done the proper cooling and heating and my females (2) are each more then 35g the male is also more then 35g. I cleaned out the cage and put in new stuff introduced the male and nothing. The male seems uninterested and the females are continuing to have there typical daily routine. What did I do wrong? The ages are for the females 2yrs, 16months and the male 2yrs.

How long have you been trying to breed them? IE, how long has it been since you introduced them.

Unless you are watching them 24/7 they may have done something without you even knowing. I have a male that gets the job done because I get gravid females but, he doesn't follow the females or act any different during the day. I have 1 male that gets the job done no matter who is watching with in minutes of putting the female in with him. So, don't think it hasn't happened already.

They have been together for 3 days. So I guess I should just put the lay box in keep the male with the females and wait and see what happens. Thanks for the help.

I keep my boys in with the girls for about a month or so, to make sure business has been taken care of. Plus, they are usually pretty sneaky about that business. They don't like an audience.

Takes more then 3 days for eggs, although I would put the lay box in anyway so they get used to it being in there. Within 25 to 45 days you should see eggs. I keep the laybox in with the females all the time.
