Default omg what is going on?

Ok, its like 1am here, and i was starting to fall asleep, when i hear kind of chirping noises. I closed my window, thinking it was something from outside. I was watching tv, and i heard the noises again. I dont think its mice, because we have a dog and she would have killed them, or at least smelt them.
So my question is, can a lone female crestie (about 10months to a year old) start chirping for no reason? Someone answer quickly or I will be up all night lol.

I have 5 in one room (different houses) they chirp a lot. The first time I heard the chirpping, it scared me too.

    Have a good night's sleep.

Ok, thanks everyone. I knew it wasnt a cricket, because I buy half inchers and they dont have their chirping abilities. Plus there is a ton of crickets outside, so I know it wasnt a cricket.

I just thought it was odd for a lone crestie to chirp. So i brought my dog upstairs to make sure there were no mice, and the chirping stopped.

I've only had my females chirp a small number of times (unless fighting off a male from mating). However, my males constantly make noise at night.
