    Default New Baby

One baby hatched last night. Today I noticed it has still not been able to get it's shed off. It has the shed skin peeled over the head but thats about it. I have grabbed a piece of the skin that was loose and picked it off but it still has half it's body that hasn't shed. I misted the baby with water. Should I wait some or do I need to manually remove the shed?

Leave the shed alone for a little bit. If you pull the skin off too early (before it's ready to come off), you can actually hurt your crestie. You did the right thing by misting him/her. Right now, I'd say just keep an eye on the humidity and make sure that they have a branch or something they can rub on if they need to help loosen the shed. (Usually I mist hatchlings about 2x a day... it keeps the humidity in the right range for proper shedding.)

I agree with Sarah's advice. Keep the conditions right and everything should take place in due time.

I had just noticed the shed last night and thought it odd that it hadn't got it off yet tonight. I'll leave him/her alone for awhile. The clutch mate is getting ready to join but still has a little egg yolk left so I'll leave him/her alone. It is out of egg. Thanks for the advice.
