    Default "Licking Self"

My pair just got done mating after like 30 minutes of "intercourse". The female went her way and ate a whole dish of Clark's. Then the male sat their and licked his hemipenes. He moves a little and continues doing this. What is up with this?

I'm not exactly sure about that but mine do it too. I think he may just be cleaning himself?

He's just cleaning up, and tucking it back inside. Most animals clean up after they are done, to cover scents and such ... and it's a good source of nutrients :P lol

Nothing is wrong with him at all, it's a natural course to his life.

Thanks alot everyone! I figured it was normal. Now my next couple questions are...do you let the male continue to mate for the next few days? I've had this pair together for a couple months now and this was the first time theyve mated. So I'm wondering if it is needed to seperate them now? And just simply to review, I should start checking for eggs in the nest box in roughly 20-30 days right? Thanks!

No need to separate them, all of my pairs stay together. And the soonest you might get eggs is roughly 30 days, but if this is her first clutch it might be longer than that. Also, it's not uncommon for the first set of eggs to go bad.
