Awesome! So before you painted it black, the white was more clear that white, or was it solid bright? I'll have to go to a craft store and brainstorm up some good ideas... Loved your foam background! What kind of paint did you use?

It's not clear at all, totally solid white.

I used spray paint on the PVC and acrylic craft paint on the background.

How long does the spray paint need to dry before the gecko can go in?

I'm actually a little bummed that it was white. I guess I didn't read the description very well.. oh well. The only bad part is that not much natural light will be able to get in... What type of light fixture are you using?

For the spray paint, I'm going to wait until the 3 people in my house can't smell anything any more. It's pretty faint right now, been 2 days I think? I'm going to just play it by ear. I have him in a larger enough tank right now, but it's less fancy. So it's not like I need to move him asap.

For lighting, I have the tank in a corner of my house which is well lit by 2 windows. He actually gets a good amount of light in from the front of the tank. The light on the tank right now, I might not even need if that corner stays warm enough.

No more smell coming from the tank. So he's going in.

Did you spray paint the inside and outside?

I just assembled it, (well my bf did) and we were concerned about leaking because the tank isn't air tight.. Have you had any issues with water leaking through at all?

I'm not sure I'm in love with the tank...

Mine has a coco and soil substrate. I also don't have any standing water in it (well beside his water dish). I haven't had any leaking, any water that falls off the leaves gets absorbed by the substrate. I do think that I'll cut a tiny piece of plexi to put in front of the bottom screen, so the dirt can't fall out. It doesn't fall out much to begin with, but cutting a piece of plexi is easy enough.

I think you'll be fine. As long as your just spraying the water in.
