Very cool! Tokays don't all deserve the reputation they have of being mean, there are definitely calm natured tokays, and the rest you just have to earn their respect. Looks like that one's a big sweetie. C:

Cute youngster. Looks to be 30-40 grams? Colors are pretty clean too, is he CB? Sweeties like this becoming more common! We'll have their reputation changed in no time!

I have a rather tame tokay as well. I think they are one of the best geckos to handle (once tame).
They use you as a tree and just lie on you for long periods of time.
I plan on getting a lot more!

Nice tokay! I have one about the same size. Do you usually take out out during day time or night? I have yet to handle mines.

I have always thought that Tokays are beyond cool... ... a tame one, all the more!

The behavior of a Tokay just reeks of intellect... These are, based on behavior, "intelligent" geckos. The way they "freeze" beyond the length of time nearly any other species will is further evidence of this intelligence. For the most part, IMO: they are simply scared... ...which assumes some sense of self awareness which is clearly something beyond most species.

I actually found two decent looking imports at the Cleveland show earlier today. A bit of crested gecko diet smeared on their snouts gets them licking up calories... ...wish me luck with them.

$25 for a very clean, good looking pair... ...yeah, Tokay are cool!

    Sincerely,
    Paul E. Turley
