    Default New Vivarium!!!

Hey all just switched my cresties over to a Live plant vivarium. Gonna do that for all of them, now I loathe plastic setups

The only thing this cage needs now are Springtails. Anyone know where to get and which ones to order??

I don't wanna breed them I just want to be able to dump the container into the tank and have them good 2 go! Any help appreciated thanks!!

Why do you loathe plastic setups?

Lol well truth is I still keep some of my cresties in a plastic setup but now that I switched one tank to live I'm going to switch them all!! Less maintenance in the long run.

Nice setup! I think some more plants/coverage wouldnt hurt however.(:

    Thanks, Brian!

See I had lots more awesome looking plants but I had run out of floor space...Plus this tank is holding 2 adult females and they would probably crush them anyway Theres more in the tank jus not in the picture, its a cell phone pic

    It looks great!
When I set up my vivarium, I purchased springtails from New England Herpetoculture so I would highly recommend buying from them. With these guys you have the option to buy them in deli cups full of substrate so you can just pour them into your tank (which is what I did). My viv has been set up for a bit over three months and I have tons of springtails now just from the one cup.

If you're interested in trying to add more foliage, I've seen these magnetic plant holders that should work well placed higher up in the tank with some sort of plant that trails (maybe Hoya? In my experience they've been pretty durable). It could work well for you since floor space wouldn't matter.

Or some bromeliads tied up high would be really neat! Either way, good job!

I bought a beautiful bromelaid but it is attatched to a large, heavy, Volcanic Rock. Any ideas to mount it in place?

Hmm good question.. D: Perhaps glueing a magnet to the back of the rock, and sticking the rock to the side of the glass, then put another magnet on the other side of the glass? Like the mangetic ledges.??

It would be an amazing setup with some plants towards the top of cage. Thanks for sharing.
