I also agree. If you are buying for colour then I would look around more and try to find something that is older. I have one that is around 10 grams and about 7 months old and she just went through a fairly significant colour change (she's not red though).

If you are new to geckos I would recommend starting with something heavier than these. We tend to measure cresteds by weight rather than age as they can grow at very different rates depending on a variety of things. I usually don't sell mine to people new to geckos until they are at least 5 or 6 grams and will often wait till closer to 10 grams.

Small geckos are not that hard to look after, but sometimes new owners make the odd mistake and the bigger the gecko the fewer health risks there are.

    Hope this helps.

The third one might be 3 months, but I'd be shocked if the others were. They look like they are less than 2 weeks old to me.

The crest structure is TERRIBLE. None of those animals will grow up to be breeding quality.

I've been breeding reds for 4 years now, and I can tell you which babies will NOT be red, but until about 10 grams (6-9 months of age, sometimes longer) I cannot tell you if they WILL be red.

I'd have no problem buying any of them except the 3rd. one down in the pics listed as "flame", cause that one doesn't seem too exceptional to me...
The other three are pretty nice, especially the one labeled "Red".

I personally wouldn't believe a thing this breeder says based on them calling the last gecko a pinstripe. Either they don't know their basic morphs or are trying to pull a fast one. Not trustworthy. There are lots of ethical breeders here with reasonably priced, healthy geckos--I would look elsewhere.

I gotta agree with moonrise. I'm brand new to cresteds, but I'm a herp fanatic! All of these geckos, IMO, are fine pet animals. They all have their tails, which from what I understand, is a good indication of a good stress level. However, I can tell you that I just recently got a crested and I LOVE everything about him except his crest, which is not exceptional but rather on par with other geckos. On top of that, my second cresty is a light gray and fires up a bright orange... I expect a LOT of change from this 3 gram baby. I suggest checking out the hand picked geckos offered by this site or dozens of other breeders. Those geckos are inexpensive and good quality. At any rate, good luck finding your perfect addition!

And one other thing... I LOVE PINSTRIPES! And, as I said, I'm brand new. I was even mistaken about my guy having partial pinstriping, but to call that last guy a pinstripe doesn't seem right. A true pinstripe, IMHO, stands out! I barely see any pinstriping on that guy.
