I also agree. If you are buying for colour then I would look around more and try to find something that is older. I have one that is around 10 grams and about 7 months old and she just went through a fairly significant colour change (she's not red though).

If you are new to geckos I would recommend starting with something heavier than these. We tend to measure cresteds by weight rather than age as they can grow at very different rates depending on a variety of things. I usually don't sell mine to people new to geckos until they are at least 5 or 6 grams and will often wait till closer to 10 grams.

Small geckos are not that hard to look after, but sometimes new owners make the odd mistake and the bigger the gecko the fewer health risks there are.
