    Default Vivarium Build :-)

So here's some pictures I started taking from beginning to now:

It was an empty fish tank..

Draining comes easy when your near a window

nice empty clean tank now for the silicone to black out the back of the tank, I also took the tank outside so the fumes wouldn't get to my head

Two things I finished siliconing the tank and built my false bottom which for some reason i can't find the other pictures of but oh well.

So i did things a little differently then others have done.. I put the clay pellets in the bottom then siliconed the bottom in so it couldn't move before i did the great stuff since i was worried I wouldnt be able to get the false bottom to fit back down.

Adding great stuff and then i placed on my driftwood that had already soaked for two weeks to get rid of tannins

More silicone over the great stuff and packed in the cocofiber

about to build slate wall to build in around the water pump top slate won't be stuck so that i can get to the filter.

    how it looks right now

I'm going to be putting down lots of gravel so the pool won't be very deep even though right now it looks like its huge.. Waiting on plants from black jungle! I'll update more tomorrow and as I finish it

    Default **Update**

so now that the slate sat all night and that's dry i siliconed over the shoreline and pressed in some of the gravel to try to keep the substrate out of the water..who knows if it'll do anything but doesnt hurt

I also sanded off the silicone on top of the slate so it wasn't so visible

ok so I put down the substrate and the rest of the gravel after it dried starting to look good!

added in some moss around the water feature

I had a couple plants show up early so I put them in before they died outside the tank not sure if I'll keep them where they are then I added water and plugged in the pump ...here's where i am now!!

my hope is a crested but I just need to find a way to make the pool not very deep since I don't want anybody floating when I come home.. and over thenext few days watching humidity and such

I would say add river rocks where the water flows or bigger rocks and make them mossy to add natural effect. Looks awesome! Just need more plants and you should be all set
