    Thumbs up Naming Themes

I have noticed that a lot of parents / owners have particular themes to their Crested naming...

Our's is Italian. Mostly pastas... Italian translations or pronunciation.

Tort aka Tortellini: pie shaped pasta.

    Voluta: Italian for 'squiggle'.

Fiori: flower shaped pasta. (hopes of being female, tried to name her the most girly sounding pasta)

Keeto: Italian pronunciation of 'Cheeto'. (yes the snack, he is orange flame)

    What's yours?
Skarah 1.2.1 Rhacodactylus ciliatus: Tortellini. Voluta, Fiori. Keeto.
    1.0.0 P. guttatus: Mais.
2.0.0 Iranian plateau Felis catus: Umbreon, Espeon
    0.1.0 Rattus norvegicus: Bux.
1.0.0 B. splendens (elephant ear): Gyrados
    0.0.1 Pogona vitticeps: Charmeleon

I love it. I am surprised we don't have any names like that. Well, with the exception of our daughters betta which she has entitled "Hello Kitty purplish pink" her latest favorite character, and colors which just so happen to be the fish's colorings. lol. kids are awesome. thx for posting

Not sure why, but mine has gotten a tad out of hand. I first got lucifer as he looked a bit evil... then got a female and though... may as well have that begin with L as well just so it kinda matches... she became lilly... and then it grew...

My lot is a bit of a tongue twister

    Lucifer
    Lilly
    Lola
    Leyla
    Lexi
    Lynx
    Lexus
    Lysander
    Luthor
    Lotus
1 unamed female as cant decide on a name

and the babies are all currently, L1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8, with the other L9 - 20 incubating.

    Talking

My critters are usually named after anime/manga (particularly Bleach) characters.

Hiyori - named for the feisty Bleach character Sarugaki Hiyori
Momo - named for the cute little shinigami Hinamori Momo (not for the Avatar character)

Sundae....well, he came with that name, and I loved it!
Zorro was named for...well...Zorro...I've had her for almost a decade, and my naming theme was a little different then.
1.1 Lampropeltis getula (Caldera, Zorro), 1.1 Crested gecko (Hiyori & Sundae), 0.1 Western hognose snake (Hinamori Momo), 1.0 African house snake (Kensei), 0.0.1 Amazon tree boa (Kon)

I have two themes: mine tend to be named after favorite characters from anime/books/movies that I like, such as Noin, Merlin, Armand or Hindi colors and spices such as Gulabi (Hindi for pink), Masala (Hindi for spice), Cayenne, and Turmeric.

Almost all of ours are named after cartoons (normally Disney/Pixar, couple of x-men, some video games).
Spike, Rafiki, Gambit, Goliath, Nala, Phoenix, Raja, Nemo, Aladdin, Tails, Bagheera, Doc Hudson, Mowgli, Timon, (Tommy) Pickles, Iago, Yoshi, Brooklyn, (Princess) Peach. Ariel, Sebastian, Garfield, Sarabi, Pineapple (Jello)[points go to whoever knows where that's from].

Hatchlings: Littlefoot, King Louie, Lilo & Stitch, Pebbles & Bam Bam, Ren & Stimpy, Flotsam & Jetsam, Michelangelo & Rafael, Leonardo & Donatello

We have a couple with food names [Chips & Doughball] and a couple of car names [Chevy & GT (who's future girlfriend will be named Shelby)]. Our first hatchling was dubbed Uno accordingly.

We have had to make lists of cartoon names to keep up with the hatchlings :P
