Nice setups! Be sure to water the plants well. Since it's so dry in Arizona, we also cover half of the Exo-terra tops with plastic sheets (like for an overhead projector), but you could also use plastic wrap.

thank you spryal. the plants are doing good in their little pots. i picked bulletproof plant like pothos, snake, and spider plants so i wouldn't need tank lights. they do great with lighting from the windows. cresties absolutely LOVE snake plants btw. i would never keep one without one after seeing how all of mine love to play & sleep on them

for humidity we have the opposite in vancouver too much humidity!! baseline in my tanks is 70% and when misted it goes around 90%. we try not to mist a lot at once so it doesn't go up to 100% which i've been told is bad and will cause respitory problems

how long do people usually leave CGD in the tank? if its not gone moldy yet is 5 days too long?

If you have humidity as high as you say, I wouldn't be leaving it in there longer than 2 nights. You might not see the mold but it might be under the surface. Once you add liquid to a food item it will start rotting faster.

okay thanks JB. two nights sounds good. by the second night it dried up so i added some water to rehydrate it. did that twice and still no mold that i can see but i dont want to risk it and make them sick if they go to eat it
