Default How do I get rid of gnats in my cage?

I'm not exactly sure what they are gnats, fruit flies? They are starting to get really bad. I have two live plants a pothos and a snake vine. I'm guessing it's because of these. I never had them with my tub setup.

What to do to get rid of them?

First you must find a wizard...

I would suggest maybe putting up fly tape inside the tank and try catching them that way? Also when they're really fat and full of food they're slower (in my experience) and a lot easier to kill.
We're currently enjoying a lot of them at the moment. I've found you can also spray the bejezus out of them with roach poison- but that was only because 5 or 6 were hanging out in one spot on the wall and I got every single one. Felt awesome. Dunno if you can spray around your plants though.

The only time "I kill their babies" sounds like sage advice.

Thought it would be fitting for the situation

They like to lay their eggs in my CGD...I have to toss the CGD every other night. Such a waste, but their numbers are dwindling. I even poured boiling water over the soil in my hisser roach bin to kill 'em off, then taped paper towels over the vents of the tub to keep them out of there.

Ha, I never thought of that! A cool, natural way to get rid of pesky bugs. I've always wanted one anyway, may have to get a few for the herp room.

Also, wouldn't put them in with the geckos...would scare me too much. Just near the tubs/tanks.

Gnats thrive on moisture.. perhaps let the soil dry out a bit for a couple days? (of course providing a water dish for anyone living in the tank in the meantime)
