Every gargoyle (or rhac) I've ever received has been on paper towel. I don't any reason why you couldn't use it. Other animals that require higher humidity (phelsuma) can usually benefit from being shipped in moss.

I've had 5 geckos (3 gargs, 2 saras) shipped from San Diego, CA to Rochester, NY all on paper towel and all arrived safe and sound.

The breeders I've purchased from typically won't ship unless the overnight temp is 40 or higher so 47 SHOULD be safe.

You might want to do a quick search and see if you can find a shipping FAQ.
