Default Young Crested gecko weight problem

I got a gecko from a local breeder off craigslist at about two months old in the middle of march and now its the may and he has not gained any weight and i can see ribs....

i try dusted crickets and offer fresh cgd every other day, and i have not seen poop for maybe a week or so.

is their anything i can do to fatten him up? because he seems really lazy where my other gecko is active....any advice,

    thanks

What kind of substrate is he on? And do you have a gram scale?

So s/he weighed 2.25 when you purchased him? Are you giving this kid a humidity cycle along with keeping it in proper temps? I know sometimes when they're really small- especially that size, they take a while gaining weight. But if this baby is loosing weight..

Do you also have any photos? it is a little hard to make guesses without seeing how this kid looks in real life. Can you put him/her on a dollar or next to a ruler so we can have an accurate size reference?

I heavily mist in the evenings and in the morning before things start to get bone dry I give a light mist for the day. Then I come back in the evening and give a heavy mist again. But I'm in Alabama and we have high humidity here anyways. This has given me the best results, and since I've been going on this schedule I haven't had a single stuck shed.

I just try to keep things heavily misted at night and then let them get almost totally dry by the afternoon. But then again, where you live and your climate will affect these things- especially if you're in a hot/dry climate.

    Default How we can help

Hey guys, took this from chameleonforums.com and feel like it could help out here. When asking for help, it seems like there should be a standard list of info provided. It makes things a lot easier and then we don't have to spend the time asking

"Here is some recommended information to include when asking for help in the health clinic forum. By providing this information, you will receive more accurate and beneficial responses. It might not be necessary to answer all these questions, but the more you provide the better. Please remember that even the most knowledgeable person can only guess at what your problem may be. Only an experienced reptile veterinarian who can directly examine your animal can give a true diagnosis of your chameleon's health.

    Chameleon Info:

    * Your Chameleon - The species, sex, and age of your chameleon. How long has it been in your care?
    * Handling - How often do you handle your chameleon?
    * Feeding - What are you feeding your cham? What amount? What is the schedule? How are you gut-loading your feeders?
    * Supplements - What brand and type of calcium and vitamin products are you dusting your feeders with and what is the schedule?
    * Watering - What kind of watering technique do you use? How often and how long to you mist? Do you see your chameleon drinking?
    * Fecal Description - Briefly note colors and consistency from recent droppings. Has this chameleon ever been tested for parasites?
    * History - Any previous information about your cham that might be useful to others when trying to help you.

    Cage Info:

    * Cage Type - Describe your cage (Glass, Screen, Combo?) What are the dimensions?
    * Lighting - What brand, model, and types of lighting are you using? What is your daily lighting schedule?
    * Temperature - What temp range have you created (cage floor to basking spot)? Lowest overnight temp? How do you measure these temps?
    * Humidity - What are your humidity levels? How are you creating and maintaining these levels? What do you use to measure humidity?
    * Plants - Are you using live plants? If so, what kind?
    * Placement - Where is your cage located? Is it near any fans, air vents, or high traffic areas? At what height is the top of the cage relative to your room floor?
    * Location - Where are you geographically located?

Current Problem - The current problem you are concerned about."

Obviously switch "gecko" in for the word chameleon
