    Default super smelly poo

does anyone have geckos that have extra disgusting smelly poo?? recently i added a male to join my female and I but his poops are completely different than hers. when she goes i can't smell it at all but when he does his business it stinks up the whole tank and even the room he's in a little bit. it smells like cat poo but a lot worse.

it kinda sucks cause i just cleaned his tank out yesterday and already i have to clean it out just wondering if some geckos are more smelly or if something could be wrong with my new guy??

    Did you quarintine him?
if hes being fed crickets it might be the issue.
when my guy eats them his poo stinks alot worse.
its better to quarintine the guy, that way you know nothing is wrong with him.

    thanks for the welcome

they each have their own 20 gallons so not to worry, i dont have them together and never will. the first time it happened was after i fed him crickets about three weeks ago and it was runny too. no more crickets after that but it's still been happening. the weird thing is is it's not every time he goes...maybe every other or third time...weird. it's not fully formed but not runny either.

i emailed the breeder and he said he must of gotten stressed and to keep an eye on him but it's still happening. normally it wouldn't matter but the tank is in my bedroom and the smell is so strong and repulsive

Yeah, I have a stinky poo-er too. He's fat and healthy but P-U! He's an AC gecko--is yours?

it's horrible isn't it? so bad that i'm second guesing keeping him but i love him way too much to give him away so i;ll just get use to it. otherwise he seems healthy and yesterday he weighed in at 35 grams

is it something to worry about if the poop isn't fully formed and hard, but not runny? kinda hard to explain and sometimes it's still normal. kinda confusing cause my female i've had since august and she's never had a soft smelly poop. i hope he's not sick....

and he's from a local breeder here in Vancouver that i found on the BC reptile club forum pics will be posted soon

Sometimes smelly poo is caused by parasites or similar. Consider having a fecal done.
