    Smile Mocha's Abode

    Here's some new pics of my little gecko's mansion. I'm open for any suggestions on where I should put things cuz right now I agree it looks like a mess.

    PS I know he is small and that some geckos have problems finding food in a tank this large but he has not had ANY problems eating since the day I got him. I watched him carefully for the first month I had him and he knows where to find food and water. He eats almost every other day.

    Looks nice.

    I'd maybe have a few branches or bamboo up high running horizontal that he can chill on.

    Also, maybe a hide like a coconut hide he can go into if he wants to 'get away'.

    Nice idea! Been racking my brain trying to decide on real plants. Thought I would have to have soil which I did not want to mess with...awesome!

    What size and brand is that tank?

    Where did you get the plants and did they come in those little pots?

    green always seems to go w/ white, for some reason. nice setup, but i would some climbing material in the top right. (bamboo, vines, etc.)

    Edit: whoops! didn't read chewy's post! must have skimmed it.

    @megaggie2002

    The tank is a 20gal high from aqueon. All the plants are from petco. Petco plants comein a little pot. The soil is actually like a foam sort of thing. They hold in water for about a week so they're good quality. The containers they are in right now arent the ones they come in. They are cuppettes I got from ac Moore. I cut out a circle in the lid and put the plants in along with the foam soil stuff. I rinse the plants in the sink too.

    The rocks in Mocha's tank are from outdoors. I scrub them with a toothbrush to get all the dirt off then I boil them and they are clean. I use them in the cuppettes as weights cuz some of the plants are too tall. The extras I just place randomly in the tank.

    One more thing. Live plants from petco brown out if they don't have light. I learned this after I bought my first two live plants from there. The light that I use is a small dome lamp from petco with a daylight spiral fluorescent bulb from lowes. I think it is a 12 watt. You don't need a high wattage bulb.

    Another thing. Lol. Dont water the plants so much that the foam soil stuff doesn't dry out in a week. The water starts to Smell swampy and yucky.

    Awesome. We don't have ac moore here though. Are the cups a specific brand? Do you know what size they are? Are they thicker plastic than the condiment cups? I think we used something similar to the cups you have in art in high school.
