Vampire Crabs

Hey everyone,

So I've had my crested gecko for a year now and everything seems to be going great. He's been set up in a nicely planted tropical vivarium which is thriving. My success has made me consider expanding my little family.

I've been on the hunt for vampire crabs. Unfortunately since I am located in Canada I'm having trouble finding them.

Does anyone here know where I can find these guys?

Try looking on king snake and/or dentro board or making a wanted ad here or on Fauna. I don't know of any one in Canada who has them but you maybe able to find someone who can ship internationally. They are very cool and I'm trying to decide between them or moon crabs myself.

I don't think they exist in Canada.
The problem with shipping from the states is that i heard there's a huge chance of losing them when you do so. The coloring on the vamps isn't that much cooler than moon crabs but the fact that vamps are diurnal beats them any day.

i think vampire crabs are awsome, James and I have talked about getting them a few times before. I do know for awhile Repashy was selling them from his website, I dont know if he still does. I would try joining a hermit crab forum, I am sure they could help you out as they more then likely have other crab forum sections just as we do with other species.
