I am trying hard to find the article but I believe it is cooler temps that are suspected to throw more females. I kept heat on mine with a lap heating mat, but only on one side of the setups, I removed the heat altogether if I wanted the reproduction so slow down some.

I was thinking of getting this because the roach bin is now under my computer desk. What do you think?

Is it safe for crickets and roaches?

any brand is fine as long is its organic and non-medicated. Most chicken feeds have medications in it to worm and keep chickens healthy. Not so good for the bugs.
