    Exclamation Different eyes

    Hi all,
My male breeder has one normal looking gecko eye one side and a smaller, different coloured eye, Is this a problem with breeding and selling? He was bred with the female before I bought him, so I could not do alot about it.
    Thank you

Pictures would be a better. Do you know if he's had it since birth? It's hard to tell if its a birth defect (which you do not want the risk of it being congenital) without his past. If it's an injury I would be less concerned about it being passed on, but this doesn't mean he should be bred. Is it effecting him at all?

I do not have any pics atm, will try tonight,
It doesn't affect him and he has had 4 offspring so far, all perfectly healthy with no eye problems whatsoever.
And he was bred with my female before I bought them (I bought them as a pair)
    Hope that helps

Yikes, have you seen a vet about this? I wouldn't breed him, not the greatest quality and I wouldn't want to risk further injury to him or bad genetics, that's my opinion though.

I agree with Ariel, since you can not be sure it was just a birth defect, genetic, or simply an incubation problem (spikes or very low decrease in tems can cause eye malformities), I wouldnt continue breeding him. All of his kids may end up looking fine but if it is something genetic they could carry it along with them and in the future produce geckos with smaller eyes.

To me the small eye almost looks like a sleeping gecko eye. Perhaps it sunk in and when he woke he couldn't open it fully again. I dunno! A vet checkup would be good.

She's still growing and eating fine, she can even hunt insects on her own.

I've actually seen that in cresties a few tymes and what I've seen was just how they were born but it's never been to THAT much of an extent
