    Default Pests?

I'm doing lots of research before I get my cresteds to make sure I'm really prepared. One question that I have is if anyone has had pests like dust mites or fruit flies and if so how do you get rid of them? Thanks

I just keep my cages clean and I don't have any major bug promblems, but I also have a couple fly strips hanging in the corner of the reptile room just to get rid of the odd fly.

They do make fruit fly traps that you can buy. I think I saw some in this springs seed catalog. Try looking here:

Supposedly these things work. I have never tried them myself as I haven't had a problem with fruit flies...at least not yet.

Actually guys, fruit flys aren't hazardous to cresteds, ever seen fruit fly cultures? Cresteds will eat them with no problem and the only reason I would see to get rid of the "extra food," would be that you, yourself are pestered by them. Just my 2 cents. And if you want to rid them easily, I would suggest a Venus Flytrap.
