    Default Here's my males enclosure.

It took me 2 hours to set this up so that it was SOLID.You can shake the enclosure and it won't fall.I'm thinking of gluing or nailing this togeather. The only problem with this set up is my male is always hiding.I was wondering everyone uses paper towels. Is newspaper o.k or will the ink be bad for the feet?

    Thanks for looking.

    Nice crested and great setup.
I also use paper towels.........the ink shouldn't hurt him but, it will make him dirty looking if he plays on it.

Looks really nice, good and active set up! Only thing though... It doesnt look like you'll easilt be able to get that wood out so you can change the paper!?

It's definitely tall, is that a 55 gallon tank?

I was thinking the same, but if you adhere them together then you could remove it as a unit. I'm sold on paper towels, but my personal preference. Your male looks pretty happy,

I agree... I sure wouldn't want to take 2 hours to put this back together every time I change the paper. I also would worry a bit about the stability of the whole thing over time. If one piece shifts, the whole thing could come down.

No one else has mentioned it so I will. Why the news paper on the back like that. Most of my cresteds climb on the back glass, your will not be able to?

Looks good though, I agree with others as long as it is easy to disassemble for cleaning and will not colapse.

I noticed the paper on the back too, but I *think* the paper on the back is on the outside of the tank (there's a reflection off the glass on the back wall - that wouldn't happen if the paper was inside the tank)...perhaps he feels the gecko likes the closed in feel?

Regarding the stablity, if that stuff isn't siliconed or nailed together, it's not stable. Things will shift over time and you could end up with a squished gecko. I think it's great that you're taking so much time to construct a nice climbing area for him, you just need to use something to stabilize it.

Thanks for all your advice.I think I will silicone the whole thing togeather.Yeh the newspaper is on the outside.I'm just doing that cause I just aquired him and I don't want to stress him out with too much of NEW sights and smells.I will probably take the newspaper down next week. The tank itself is only 2.5 feet tall.My male is SMALLER than my female. So I thought I would raise him up a bit.I read that they should be of comparible size before I put them togeather. Is that true. Thanks again for all the advice.

I noticed, but saw it was on the outside of the tank, or the flash wouldn't have reflected off of the back of the tank, just the sides. And the cage looks like it's sitting on a weight bench? I also noticed the rug in the background. Polar bear or sheepskin? Someone's comfortable, I'd like to be laying on that!

Females and males differ a bit in weight and size, but they should be okay as long as there isn't a huge difference in size. How old is your male and female? And what are the weights? If you don't know, maybe take a picture of them side by side for comparision.
