The only thing about the pins is that they are naturally a brackish water turtle and when kept in fresh water they often get shell issues because people dont keep them clean enough. The can live in fresh water, the keep is clean clean clean water.

They really are not that expensive, they normally start around $35-40 and can go up into the $200 range depending on the species.

A really neat turtle and the only aquatic turtle I have ever wanted (most aquatic turtles are just to stanky, these are just to darn cute, can get over the stank!)

bracish water is easy to maintain i have a BW tank and isnt much different from a FW but you have to pre mix salt

not nearly as difficult as a SW tank

I have had turtles in the past but I think I am done caring for any reptile or amphibian that lives in water. Frogs crap in water and you have to change it nonstop, newt food falls to the bottom and makes a mess, turtles are a combination of both, etc.

It's just so much easier to clean up a little poop here and there with geckos. I even have all of my geckos in natural vivariums because IMO, THAT is easier than paper towels.

    Yes...I'm a lazy pet owner.
