    Default "Sweating" Egg???

I just checked on GIGANTIC EGG #4, and it's sweating!!

The baby still appears to be alive.

The whole thing looks like it was sprayed with high-gloss sealant. Not "beads" of liquid.

None of the others are shiny.

Does this mean it may hatch soon???

The others that were laid the same day hatched 3 days ago.

I've read about sweating eggs, but never seen it before.

Sounds like it's about to hatch!

I cut open my chahoua egg when it was first starting to sweat... it's a chahoua though, and I wasn't taking any chances!... Didn't want to lose it! With my crestie eggs I won't be cutting those open. I'll let them sweat, and hatch on their own.

    Too late.

The baby was long dead already.

Aw geez I am so sorry to hear that Donna. I know you've had a heck of a time this season, and were really worried about this baby. RIP little one.

    Thank you, Julie.

It has been a tough 2 years. No hatchlings last year, many losses this year-still haven't had a live hatchling from Sui-and now this.

Right now, I'm loading pics to photophucket for a thread on the "The Ones We've Lost" board.

    Thank you for caring, Julie.

I think I'm going to have the same problem. My Ellsa egg at 60 days old sweat fairly bad. I see the baby in there but no movement and the egg now has a dent in it

I just can't decide weather to cut it open or leave it be. I had to open it if its still alive

Mine was so big that it was really easy to see where the baby was when I candled it and cut it open, but if it's not hugely swollen,I wouldn't chance it.

You don't want to hurt the baby if it's still alive-or even mutilate it if it's not...that would be just as sad.
