is he with another gecko? Is he Breeding with a female? Not sure if its his hemipenes, Make sure you get him on papertowel if hes not with a female and take him to the vet. Could of been a prolapse?

Yes, it looks like his hemipenes. I would answer the questions the previous poster asked. I wish I could help, but have no experience with this problem. I'm sure someone else will chime in.

I second the suggestion to isolate him on paper towel right now.

This is the most useful thing I could find here pertaining to this:

Maybe you should start reading it while you wait for replies.

I would actually suggested a well sprayed down KK with out paper towel. It looks like his hemipeni. You can see the other side is fine. I would not place him on an absorbant sufface because, well he might stick. He should with time, pull it back in. Keep us informed as to what happens.

To me it looks looks both of them are out. But it's hard to tell from the pic.

How long should I give him before I should contact a vet?
He is currently sharing the tank with a female.

Do as Rhatfield said!!! Keep him moist so the hemipene doesnt get dry. If he don't put it back in 24 hours get him to the vet asap.

YOu can try a sugar water soak solution and see if that helps him get it back in. Otherwise, some KY jelly to keep it moist until you can get him to the vet, as that looks like a potential prolapsed Hemipene. I don't know if you have a good reptile vet yet, so to find one in your area, try www.herpvetconnection.com

Good luck with the little guy!

I agree with Saille about the sugar water soak and KY jelly.

I have a male who likes to "abuse" himself, and sometimes his hemipenes don't retract for a couple of days.

Take a deli cup and add lukewarm water with about 1/2 a teaspoon of sugar. Place the gecko in, and allow his guys to soak for about 15 to 20 minutes. Checkonhim to make sure his guys retract.

Make sure the water covers his hemipenes.

After I take my male out of the water, I always give him a KY lube.
