    Unhappy Crested gecko behavior

Hi I have a 2 year old male crested gecko named booger. I have been witnessing some very odd behavior lately and I hope that someone here can give some advice on how to handle it. After he started puberty he became very territorial and was freaking out a lot. I would move the lid of his house just a tiny bit and he will just go crazy. He won't let me handle him anymore, and when I try he keeps jumping all over the place like a mad man. He never used to behave this way and I just want to know what might have caused him to change. His behavior is so bad that I woke up to see him biting his paper towel substrate this morning. I really want him to calm down and I just dont know what to do at this point. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My normally, very calm and lovable guy has gotten a little crazy too. But I've been patient and persistent. I continue to hold him every day. I put my had in his cage and let him see me, if he seems wound up, I back off and go back in 5-10 minutes. He usually is calmer the darker it is.

Once out of the cage, I've seen him RUN up my arm, or almost cower in fear, but after a few more minutes, he relaxes.

After a couple of week, he's pretty much back to normal with crazy days being less and less.
