Hi all. I'm new to reptiles in general. During a visit yesterday to the local vivarium, where I was considering getting a snake, I fell in love instead with the crested gecko. I'm obsessively doing my research and counting the days until I go back next weekend for my new buddy.

So, my question...while there, I handled both a baby and adult crested. I'm fairly sold on getting the adult, because the crazy jumpiness of the baby, combined with its small size, makes me paranoid that it would be much easier to lose during handling. Am I being overly paranoid?

Handling aside, what are the other pros/cons of getting an adult vs. a baby or vice versa?
