Those guys have always given me the creeps.
They're cute though. This one especially.

It's tough for me to like any insect.... I have a highly irrational fear of them, but I try to get past it. I was quite nervous while I was taking this photo because I was afraid he'd jump on me because I was so close. After I was done taking the photo, I got a long umbrella to help him move off the door and back onto a plant. He ran up that umbrella so fast, I almost squealed. lol

I LOVE mantids! I've kept a couple and used to buy the egg sacs as a kid. They are by far my favorite insect. Some of the "exotic ones" are quite fascinating!

I have to agree with you Mike! I love them and I still buy the eggs sacs and tie them to my outdoor bonsai trees. They keep them completely bug free. Not all of them stay of course, so I feel good in adding more to the surrounding area.

I love mantids too! I'm raising Chinese and European mantids this summer just for the fun of it.

This is my fav insect for sure. Here is a picture of my favorite Mantis. It's called an Orchid Mantis. To me these are the most majestic, and beautiful insect out there.
