    Default My Pillbug Army *GLEE*

So I ordered some Pillbugs from Sarah (lunargecko), and they just arrived. I think I was more excited about THIS package than any others I've received this year. These aren't the best pictures, but they'll do! Thanks again Sarah, you're the best!

Are they wild caught or dose she breed them herself?

She is a breeder, as I wouldn't risk putting wild caught into my gecko cages. I'm actually going to be starting my own breeding colony from the majority of these, and I'm quite excited.

    Yeah, they got there! Woot!

Yes, I breed them myself. There very simple and great for tanks. Main thing I have learned is to keep a bin of them separated from the geckos as they are also a highly favored snack w/ some of my guys. =)

Keep in mind, I ordered mine to help with the substrate in the tank, but if my boyos decide that they are a delicious treat, I won't complain.

Normally I do orders of CB worms and pill bugs mixed in together for planted vivs. Not just the pills.

I love pill bugs! So I looked this up: http://blogs.thatpetplace.com/thatre...nd-amphibians/

Do you think pill bugs could be an acceptable replacement for crickets to feed geckos? I don't know if they contain too much chitin...? Really curious...and interested.
