    Default Do crests change colors?

The reason I ask is tonight was tank cleaning night.....take everything out santize it with hot water etc... but

I put skylar in a deli cup as normal since I havnt invested in a kritter keeper yet in order to do tank cleaning.... (put that on my list to buy next time)

It took about 20 to 30 mins to wipe and wash everything off and rinse..... after it was reset up I went to get skylar out...

Her crests and flame patterning are normally a dark orange type, well when I got her out she was creme! I am not seeing things lol I swear but this was a first time I seen this so it was odd for me.

Now is it possible that her grown up look will look like her mom or is this just something freak that may happen but wont happen all the time?

Her mom is Heathers Beretta here is the link to her pictures (please note that the father is not the one pictured below her) http://www.pangeareptile.com/forums/...ad.php?t=18102

crested geckos change from darker vivid colors to pale colors. the pale colors are often shown during the day and when they are relaxed. the darker colors are mostly shown when they are stressed(good and bad) and at night when they are active. Hatchlings often change colors before they have their adult colors around 10 grams. hatchlings often are born red or orange which sadly fades away most of the time

I understand about the colors changing but this wasnt a normal color change.....

Her crests changed from orange to creme. It wasnt her base color that changed that remained chocolate.

    Default Crests

    Hello,
Although maybe not as noticiable on some, and depending on the color
of the gecko, I think the crests can and do change color.

    Default Crests P.S.

What you learned from the Repashy Forum does make sense.
The optical illusion idea is probably true for many things about us.
    Thanks for posting the info.
