Default I don't see a music post yet...

    What do people listen to?
I'm into more instrumental stuff. I hate most everything played on the radio. Some favorites are:

    Eyvind Kang
    Dirty Three
    Mick Turner
    Tren Brothers
    Sinister Luck Ensemble
    Takagi Masakatsu
    Boxhead Ensemble
    Ogurusu Norihide
    Fennesz
    Eluvium
    Tim Hecker
    Derek Bailey
    (post '64) John Coltrane
    Albert Ayler
    Biosphere
    Calexico
    Ennio Morricone
    Hungry Ghosts
    Loren Mazzacane Connors
    Tom Waits

Um, yeah, so that's my list.
I could spend a few hours and pull out some more stuff but that should do.

I'm into really heavy rythmic music. I listen to bands like

    Mudvayne
    As I Lay Dying
    System of a Down
    Killswitch Engaged
    Norma Jean
    American Head Charge

Then I like the occasional pop artist like

    Aimee Mann
    (pre-millenium) Our Lady Peace

Basically I'll listen to anything that takes my fancy but my taste in music is pretty restricted. I tend to enjoy a very distinct sound.

My favorite has got to be the "Kidney Thieves". Though I listen to everything from Disturbed to Garth Brooks (and I LOVE "Phantom of the Opera"). The only stuff I can't stand is classical and anything with any kind of yodeling.

Hmm, I mostly prefer the instumental stuff...most times people singing just messes up a good song.

I like musicals, jazz, blues, classic rock, some country (not the yodeling kind), anything with a good beat and bass section, and preferably something that doesn't rip my ears off. Sorry, Eli, I just can't do metal in its various forms...my ears just won't take it. No angry-angry music, no rap.

Most times I don't have a radio on, I just listen to whatever song is playing in my head at the time, and there's always one playing ...although I have to admit I need to change the "channel" as some song from Mary Poppings has been circling round and round all morning. *shrug*
