    Default New Chewie Hatchlings

After only dud eggs in 2007, I finally got my first chewie hatchling on Saturday (9/6)!

This morning (9/8) it's sibling was waiting--impatiently--in the egg container. It spent a few restless hours digging in the perlite and overturning other (ciliatus) eggs.

    Hi Sandy,

Yes, they're both little cuties! I'm not sure yet if I'll keep one or sell 'em both. I really need a sub-adult female chewie for my extra male.

I righted all the crested eggs that got overturned, but won't know for awhile if they were affected.

I think the main difference is age. My female is a year older and I think it's pretty common for female chahouas to lay duds in their first breeding year. I'm not aware of anything I did differently this year, though all my geckos eat more of the current Repashy diet than they did last year.
